Common Polish Clades Update

18-Jan-11

Peter Gwozdz

This folder has updates to a pair of articles from the Fall 2009 issue of the Journal of Genetic Genealogy:

Y-STR Mountains in Haplospace, Part I:  Methods

Y-STR Mountains in Haplospace, Part II:  Application to Common Polish Y-STR Clades

Haplotypes.xls is my complete list of definitions and modal haplotypes, including hypothetical new ideas that are not discussed in my other web documents.  This Excel file is updated most often in this set of update files.

Assigner.xls is the file that I use for assignment of R1a samples in the Polish Project.

L260M458Results.xls is the file with results for those two SNPs in the Polish Project.

Type.xls is a new improved version of the Excel file for analysis of types.  Lots of new features, including a macro for automatic sorting.  A macro for evaluating DYS464.  Excel may give a warning about viruses associated with macros;  you need to trust me.  (You can open this file with macros disabled to look at it.)  This file has extensive documentation and instructions in “Doc” sheets.  This analysis file calculates step (genetic distance) the same way as Ysearch (www.Ysearch.org).

Type500.xls is a copy version of Type.xls with room for 500 samples.  The documentation sheets are not included.

Calculator.xls is a new version of my calculator.  This Calculator.xls has alternate methods of calculating mutation steps by marker, one of which is included in the Type.xls file.  This Calculator.xls has more documentation, including the details of how Ysearch calculates steps for genetic distance.

Updates:  Type.xls, Type500.xls, Calculator.xls:  The new versions were uploaded to this web page on 17 Sep.  There were no previous versions of these files at this web page because the previous versions were the published versions at the site for Journal of Genetic Genealogy;  this page only has update files.  During the next month I did some testing and some uploading of new versions with minor improvement.  If you downloaded during September or October you might consider the current version.  The latest update is 17 Oct.

NType.xls is a new analysis of N type, using the new Type.xls.

NcaType.xls is a new subtype of N type, using the new Type.xls.

NgType.xls is a new subtype of N type, using the new Type.xls.

PType.xls is a new analysis of P type with a better definition, using the new Type.xls.

KyType.xls is a new subtype of K Borderline, using the new Type.xls.

KzType.xls is a new subtype of K Borderline, using the new Type.xls.

FaType.xls is a new subtype of the FH clade, using the new Type.xls.

FbType.xls is a renaming of the original F type, part of the FH clade, using the new Type.xls.

HType.xls is an update of H type, part of the FH clade, using the new Type.xls.

Polish12.xls has an update of Table 1 from Part II, using recent data.

The following use the original version of Type.xls:

BType.xls is a type defined in Nov 2009.

DType.xls is the analysis of D type, including a “Documentation” sheet.

EType.xls is a new type analysis.

GType.xls is a recent analysis of G type with more data now available.

JType.xls is a new type analysis.

Assigner.xls is the file that I use for assignment of R1a samples in the Polish Project.

Three new types from R1b haplogroup:

L23EEType.xls

L47PType.xls

L47AType.xls

Two new types from I haplogroup:

M253PType.xls

M223CEType.xls

Hint:  you can right click on a link to download the file and save it without opening it.  Sometimes these Excel files act differently when opened through some browsers, so it may be better to save them and open using Excel.
